The main areas of application of EcoPiren are in the production of cables (HFFR and PVC), aluminum composite panels and roofing membranes (bitumen and TPO), engineering plastics.

EcoPiren imparts flame retardancy to polymer compounds, reduces smoke emission and prevents the formation of burning droplets during combustion. The application of EcoPiren achieves the highest grades of fireproof classifications in polymer systems.

EcoPiren can be supplied in different purities to suit the flame-retardant application.

  • 20kg FFS PE bag.
    1 ton big-bag.
Store product in a dry area. Shelf life is 12 months. Bag must be kept re-sealed if the content was not used entirely. Exposure to moisture will reduce the activity significantly.

  • Ecopiren is a Mg(OH)2 brand owned by Brucite+. IMC has established a tight partnership with Brucite+ to sell Ecopiren products in Asia on behalf of Brucite+.

Ecopiren is a fine milled Brucite powder with a median (D50) particle size from 3.5 to 200 µm and can be treated/coated with stearic acid, alkyl silane, vinyl silane or amino silane.

The high decomposition temperature of EcoPiren (330 °C) allows the processing of materials at elevated temperatures, significantly increasing the productivity.

  • Main Properties

    Mgo Content   63.5% min.
    Mg(OH)2 Content   92% min.
    Fe2O3   0.15% max.
    Grain Size   D50: 2.5 μm, 3.5 μ m, 5.5 μm
    Surface Coating   Stearic Acid/Silane/Zinc Stearate
